About Sapphires

Sapphires come in every colour of the rainbow, with the precise colouration of each stone dependent on the mix of elements that were present in the environment in which the crystal grew. Purple sapphires are rare and beautiful, with the colour and cut of each gemstone being individual. The colour of this sapphire engagement ring reminds me of velvet and I enjoyed the process of designing a setting for this sapphire that would bring out its unique and interesting characteristics.
