Petrified wood was actually once a tree that fossilized over thousands of years, turning it to stone. These particular cufflinks come from the mighty Sequoia trees. The wavy bands or lines in these stones are a type of pattern referred to as "herringbone" and are the actual annual growth rings that were once part of the living tree. They are unique and interesting and would make an excellent gift!
